The Egyptian Interior Ministry altered its previous version of the explosion in central Cairo yesterday, claiming that the amount of explosives in a car was ready to carry out a terrorist operation that caused the explosion. For his part, the Egyptian president said that the explosion that occurred last night in Kasr al-Aini area in Cairo was an act of "cowardly terrorist".
On his Facebook and Twitter pages, Sisi expressed his condolences to the people "and to the families of the martyrs who died as a result of the cowardly terrorist incident" and declared that his country was determined to "fight and eliminate brutal terrorism".
According to the Ministry of Health, the death toll has been increased to twenty, including four unidentified, and 47 wounded.
In a fourth statement, Health announced that "the state of health of the wounded is generally rebaduring, with the exception of three serious cases of intensive care".

The collision took place in front of the Institute of Oncology of Cairo University, in the central city of Manial.
