The Energy and Minerals Regulatory Authority (RERA) on Tuesday issued a license for the third and fourth phases of the Samra power plant, after signing an amendment to the company's license.
The company owns 7 gas units and 4 steam units, with a capacity of 1,240 MW, and generates 40% of the electricity consumed in Jordan, including 641 MW of new phases.
The Chairman of the Council of Commissioners, Farouk Al-Hayari, said in a press release, after signing the license amendment granted to the company to include Phase III and IV licenses, that the company authorizes the company Samra to use both phases according to law to generate 641 MW of electricity per combined cycle.

The license also commits the company to follow instructions regarding the health of employees and the safety of third parties and to ensure the protection of persons and property against any work related to the production of electricity under the license.
"Under the license, the licensee undertakes to submit to the Ministry of the Environment and the Environment an annual environmental report confirming its compliance with the protection standards of the environment and the environment. environment that are applicable to it under the Environmental Law, General Safety Requirements and related legislation, "said Al-Hayari.
Al-Hayari pointed out that the license required the company to send to the Authority annual and quarterly reports indicating the quantities of energy produced and exported, internal consumption, spent fuel, availability, Expenses, capacity and financial reporting in accounts and budget.
He indicated that the publication of this amendment to the license granted to the company was in accordance with the provisions of the Law on General Electricity and the Regulatory Authority of the Energy and Minerals Sector. and that it meets the requirements of the global strategy for the energy sector, emphasizing the importance of this company to strengthen the electrical system with a production capacity meeting a portion of the electrical charges.
