US oil production fell 300,000 barrels a day in July
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Crude oil production in the United States fell 300,000 barrels a day to 11.7 million bpd in July from the previous month, the US Energy Information Administration said on Tuesday.
In a statement, the administration attributed the drop in production to a stop in the Gulf of Mexico for several days in the middle of last month because of Hurricane Barry.
The administration estimates that crude oil production from the Gulf of Mexico has dropped more than 300,000 barrels a day last month.
The administration expects crude oil production in the United States to average 12.3 million bpd in 2019 and 3.3 million bpd in 2020, the two "record levels".
The price of a barrel of Brent averaged $ 64 a barrel last month, almost the same as the previous month, and $ 74 a barrel in July 2018.
The administration expects Brent to average $ 64 per barrel in the second half of 2019 and $ 65 per barrel in 2020
