Schalke suspends boss for three months for racist statements against Africans

By Playfuls Team Schalke 04 has suspended President Clemens Tonis for three months because of racist statements against Africans he made last week. The Ethics Committee of the Ruhr Club has released a belated statement on the sidelines of a meeting at which Tunis has defended, accusing the latter of "violating the prohibition of discrimination contained in the club's statute ".

The commission rejected accusations of racism against Tunisians, saying that "without foundation" and only suspending the suspension without removing him from office. The 63-year-old Tunisian has been criticized for his statement on the construction of new power plants in Africa.
