Manchester City confirm Sani cruciate ligament injury

Manchester City has announced the injury of his German winger Leroy Sani with a cut in the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

Sani was injured Sunday in the clash against Liverpool in the Charity Cup Shield, as the Celtic team won 5-4 on penalties after the 1-1 draw.

The city has not revealed the details of the absence of the player, but will not be less than six months.

Sani is expected to undergo surgery next week.

The injury shatters Bayern's hopes of recruiting the player who was counting on him to compensate for the departure of French duo Franck Ribery and Dutchman Arjen Robben.

Sani has been in Manchester City since the summer of 2016 since Schalke, where he has won two Premier League titles, as well as the FA Cup and FA Cup.
