LONDON (Reuters) – Tottenham Hotspur have hired Argentine midfielder Giovanni Lucilso of Real Betis for a loan season on the final day of the England transfer window.
Lucelso, loaned by Paris St Germain last season to Betis before being signed by the Spanish club in April, scored 16 goals in all competitions and six others.
"We are pleased to announce that we have reached an agreement on the loan of Giovanni Lucelso to Real Betis with an option to convert the contract into the final," said the club in a statement released Thursday. The attacking midfielder will wear the 18th jersey this season. "
The Argentine international is Tottenham 's third rookie after midfielder Tangay Ndombley, who has joined 60 million euros ($ 67 million) and Leeds United winger, Jack Clarke, who returned to the second division on loan for one season.
