LONDON (Reuters) – An alleged racist tweet against Liverpool 's Egyptian international, Mohamed Salah, was arrested on Twitter, British media reported on Thursday.
British police questioned the 32-year-old suspect from Merseyside on suspicion of having committed the incident, reported Sky Sports.
The suspect, who would be a supporter of Everton, Liverpool's closest neighbor in Merseyside, was arrested by police following an investigation into the tweet, the network announced.
Everton criticized the incident, claiming that he "condemns in the strongest terms any type of racism".
