Lucas Hernandez expressed his hope that the first round of the Cup of Germany will see him playing his first official match with Bayern Munich, his new club.
Bayern Munich, the defending champion, will meet the fourth, Energie Cottbus.
Despite the relatively low importance of the showdown, Hernandez said: "I hope to score my first official appearance in the match."
The 23-year-old underwent a knee surgery in March but is recovering.
"I feel good and I get closer to my best situation, that of not suffering," said the Bayern Munich star of Atletico Madrid.
