The Spanish Rafael Nadal has made an appointment with the Russian Daniel Medvedev in the final of the Rogers Cup in Montreal.
Nadal's qualification comes in the final, after the withdrawal of his opponent in the semifinal, the French Gael Monfils, victim of an injury to the left ankle, was the victim of the match that beat the Spanish Roberto Bautista in the quarterfinals.
Medvedev qualified against compatriot Karen Khashanov by beating him in the first consecutive Russian semifinal match against Montreal in two consecutive games (details 6-1 and 7-6).
Medvedev, 23, is expected to become the first Russian professional in the ATP rankings, which will be released tomorrow by ATP.
