The Iraqi team reached the finals of the West Asian Football Championship after beating their Yemeni counterpart (2-1) in the match that brought them together on Sunday in the final round of the fourth round of the tournament. Group A.
Iraq advanced with two consecutive goals signed by Ibrahim Bayesh and Hussein Ali Al-Saidi in the 26th and 31st minute of a penalty. Then Yemeni Abdul Wasei Al-Matari scored the only goal of his country when the meeting breathed his last breath.
Iraq finished top of Group A, with 10 points, reaching a final date in the final with Bahrain, Group B champion.
