Iraq joins Bahrain in final of West Asia

The Iraqi team joined Bahrain for the West Asian Championship final, defeating the Yemeni team 2-1 at the Karbala International Stadium on Sunday at the end of group A.

The hosts needed only one draw to seal their card in the final after scoring 7 points after their first three matches, while the Yemeni team needed to win to resolve the card by a direct confrontation with Iraq, which finished the group with 10 points against Palestine (7) today Syria 4-3 in a marginal match.

The Iraqi team started the game with a quick performance, determined to score early and surprise his Yemeni counterpart, who had his first chance with a serious shot by Mohsen Qarawi thanks to goalkeeper Mohammed Hamid Balmersad (s 12).
