The design of smartphones with flip-down screens has recently become widespread. We have seen this design with the Samsung Galaxy Fold and the Huawei Mate X, although they have not yet been officially launched. However, LG seems to plan something like this, but a little differently, a patent has been patented for a smartphone screen that can be folded three times, suggesting that LG is taking this trend very differently.

The patent details reveal a screen called Z-FOLD FOLDABLE TYPE FOLDABLE SMARTPHONE, recently published in the database of the WIPO (World Intellectual Property Office) and containing a large amount of graphics.

The images reveal a folding screen that folds inward with a separate second screen, also mounted on a hinge in a rather clever way. The two outer parts appear folded in the middle, with a separate screen placed at the front of the folded device.

However, it should be noted that some key items such as the USB-C port do not exist in the device, which may indicate that the phone will only work wirelessly. It also appears that there is no front camera or fingerprint sensor, but they were probably installed under one of the screens.
