(Reuters) – Lebanese composer and singer Marwan Khoury opened the first night of the 28th edition of the Fuheis festival in Jordan on Sunday evening with a concert featuring his freshest romantic songs.

Khoury began the concert with the romantic song "Ya Rab" of his lyrics and melodies, which he performed with his countryman Carol Samaha and gained great Arabic renown.

For over an hour and more, Khoury, 51, has presented a series of his songs, including "Naseeb Al Naseeb", "Rah Ghani Al Layla", "Bali's Mesh Am Batrouhi", "One Year Pbad "and other songs with which the audience has dialogued and that he has repeated over and over again.

The Jordanian singer Mahmoud Sultan had previously Khoury on the main stage in the first paragraphs of the festival.

The festival is organized by the Fuheis Youth Club under the patronage of Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, in the ancient city of Fuheis, about 13 km from Amman.

Artists from Jordan and abroad, including Tunisian Yousra Mahnoush, Syrian Hussein Deek, Jordanian Diana Karazon and Lebanese Najwa Karam, will attend the closing ceremony on August 16th.

The festival program also includes the participation of the Freedom Folklore Band of Egypt and the Naya Women & Music Band of Jordan.
