Footballers are a constant source of inspiration for their supporters, but a child who seeks to attract the attention of Mohamed Salah of Liverpool, was injured after hitting a street lamp while he was running behind the player's car.
Louis Fowler, 11, was trying to attract the attention of Salah, who was leaving the club after Saturday's training.
Joe Cooper, the child's father-in-law, said that the young cheerleader "had broken his nose".
He said that they were "surprised" when Mohamed Salah quickly stopped and returned to check on Lewis's condition.
Cooper told Liverpool Eco that Lewis and his brother, who live near Melwood 's training camp, were spending their summer vacations looking for pictures of their favorite football champions.
"Unfortunately, Louis directly collided with the lighting mast running behind Salah's car, and his nose was broken when he fell to the ground."
Neighbors brought Lewis and his brother home, and Salah returned home shortly.

"Everything happened very quickly, we did not have a chance to clean it up," Cooper said.
"(Salah) saw a child who hit him, and he came back in his car with great morals to make sure he was fine.
"Salah asked me if the kids were fine and hugged them, that's all they needed." Lewis has forgotten everything about his injury.
Lewis was then treated at Alder Hay Children's Hospital and was "hospitalized" for meeting Salah.
Cooper said: "The face has suffered a little pain, but it's OK, and has not stopped smiling."
Speaking as part of the BBC's Victoria Derbyshire program, Lewis said he had been hit by a lighting pole because of his delight in seeing his favorite player.

His 10-year-old brother Isaac said that he was running and "jumping automatically" on Salah when the star returned to the street.
"I was screaming on his behalf," said Lewis.
"I love him so much – it's the best and I hope he'll be able to win a hat trick against Chelsea," he said.
Since leaving Rome for Rome in 2017, Salah has been commended for his record performance, in addition to his charitable work, including helping to fight against Islamophobia.
The Egyptian striker was the only player to appear on the list of the 100 most influential personalities of the world in 2019.
