Athletic Bilbao made a rare move in the professional world by extending the contract of striker Iniaki Williams by nine years, the Basque club announced on Monday.
Aged 25, he has been defending the colors of Bilbao since 2014 after also spending the age difference between 2012 and 2013 and is expected to remain in the club until 2028.
The contract provides for an increase of 85 million euros to 135 million euros for the striker, who scored 13 goals in the league last season.
The decision to extend the contract comes four days before the start of the Spanish league in the new season, to welcome Bilbao to the holders of Barcelona.
