Liverpool is looking to win the European Super Cup for the fourth time against Chelsea on Wednesday night in Istanbul.
In 1977 and 2005, the Reds won the Champions League titles and in 2001 the UEFA Cup champions.
By winning the next edition, Liverpool will equal the four victories of Real Madrid, a title less than Milan and Barcelona, and one more title than Atletico Madrid.
In five participations in Super Europe, Liverpool lost the title twice, first against Anderlecht in 1978, sinking 3-1 in Belgium and winning 2-1 in England.
The second took place in 1984, against Juventus in Italy, with two goals scored by Zepinho Bonic.
