NEW YORK (Reuters) – Wall Street closed higher on Tuesday after the Trump administration announced the deferral of planned import duties on some Chinese products, prompting investors to buy back shares.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average finished last month at 307.78 points, or 1.19%, at 26,215.15, while the Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> rose 42.57 points, or 1.48%, to close at 2,926.32.
The Nasdaq composite index <.IXIC> rose 152.95 points, or 1.95%, to 8,016.36.
