An international group of astronomers noticed a brief slowdown in the rotation of pulsar PSR J0835-4510 in the constellation of Sailing, located a thousand miles away.

According to the EurekAlert website, scientists have observed this mysterious phenomenon when studying the sudden increase in pulsar rotation speed, which allowed them to identify ongoing processes.

Scientists badyzed the available data on the defect of pulsar PSR J0835-4510 recorded in 2016. As is known, only 5% of pulsars have a defect, but it occurs every three years in a neutron star of the wing of the constellation. The results of the study showed that in the soles of the star PSR J0835-4510, three different components.

One of these components is a "soup" of ultra-liquid neutrons inside the inner layer of the pulsar crust. They move to the surface, but they hit the hard shell layer, spinning it, but the second wave of ultra-liquid neutrons catches the first wave and slows it down.

Astronomers have also observed another inexplicable phenomenon, in which, before the fault slowed down the rotation of the pulsar, then returned to normal. Therefore, researchers believe that at present, this occurs in the plant of neutron stars, which may result in subsequent imbalance.
