Facebook, in a move that seems to be a direct challenge to Snapchat's goals, has announced the opening of a closed beta version of Spark AR on Instagram, allowing any developer to create and share AR filters on the platform. Easy, thanks to the drag-and-drop function.
The Facebook Spark AR tool designed for creating AR effects allows anyone to create custom face filters and other effects on Instagram stories.
Previously, Spark AR was reserved for creators of certified ads, but the new update will allow everyone to create and upload their AR filters on Instagram.
As with Snapchat Lens Studio, it is clear that Spark AR Studio is aimed at creators with some experience of similar programs, although Instagram encourages all artists to try it.
