The Ministry of Health, in a statement of Wednesday, August 14, 2019, signed an amendment to the Convention on the billing of services provided to social contents in public hospital structures for the year 2018, in order to increase the contribution of the National Fund for Illness Insurance to the costs of treating patients, without prejudice to the contribution of citizens to the current treatment costs.
This is consistent with what has been shown on some social networking sites regarding the increase in billing services in hospitals and public health facilities.
The ministry explained that this supplement of amendment, signed by the Acting Minister of Health and the Minister of Social Affairs in the presence of the President and the Director General of the National Fund for Medicare, includes the following points :
* Increase of 5% of the ceiling of the contribution of the National Fund for the health insurance, which corresponds to 25 million dinars compared to 2018 to reach an amount of 572 million dinars.
* 10% increase in the contribution of the National Insurance Fund to hospital stays and day hospitalizations, which has not been revised for more than 10 years.
* General Circulation The National Health Insurance Fund provides some leukemia-related treatment services, which were not covered by previous agreements, namely:
Autograft of Bone Marrow
Bone marrow allograft
Acute lymphoblastic leukemia
Acute granular leukemia
Severe spinal aplasia
* The National Fund for Health Insurance provides the medical equipment necessary for the embolization of the arteries of the brain and spinal cord (embolization and trombectomy) performed at the National Institute of Neurology.
* The National Health Insurance Fund covers medical and surgical expenses in order to follow the technological evolution of in vitro fertilization and treatment of the coagulation of vascular anastomoses between two fetal circulations under fetoscopy.
* General Circulation The National Sickness Insurance Fund provides Surfactant material, an expensive material previously allocated to the Center for Obstetrics and Childhood Medicine of Tunisia to the rest of the neonatal departments of hospitals.
* The National Fund for Alzheimer's Disease Insurance provides day hospitalization at Al Razi Hospital.
* Increase of the amount of the national fund for the insurance of the disease in the rate of blood purification rations carried out in health facilities at 116 dinars instead of 99 dinars in 2018.
* Ensure a direct national fund for disease insurance to treat cancer patients based on the actual cost of the drugs and without resorting to social security clinics by adopting a new procedure that will facilitate access to the chemotherapy and streamline drug management.
* The National Health Insurance Fund guarantees the real cost of medical supplies and raises arbitrary fees for open heart surgeries
