Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QE) fell on Thursday to its lowest level in August 2018, while the collective decline in sectors and liquidity reached 42.69 million rupees.

At 10:03, Qatar time, the overall index fell 1.93 percent to 9490.13 points, losing 185.41 points from Wednesday's levels.

These declines are accompanied by the sharp contraction of the US and global markets and the fear of a rise in the global recession..

A total of SAR 42.69 million was traded to 13.83 million shares.

Banks and financial services were the main contributors to the decline, down 2.52%, with 9 stocks, including NBK – the largest relative weight in the broad-based index – down 3.28%.

The industry fell by 0.70%, down 7% from 10 listed stocks, with Qamco leading 4.70%, and Industrial Qatar down 0.30%.

Vodafone Qatar exceeded the red list of 6.11% to 1.23 riyals, while Mannai and Ijara rose only 0.57% for the first and 0.45% for the second.

On the most active trades, the first decline was 2.91%, with 2.77 million shares.
