FIFA has imposed a $ 1 million fine on Romer Osuna, a former treasurer and member of the executive committee of the South American Federation, for accepting bribes.
FIFA said the action against the Bolivian leader was based in particular on its role in awarding contracts to companies with media rights and marketing for FIFA competitions between 2012 and 2015.
Osuna has been Treasurer of the South American Confederation of Conmebol for 27 years. In 2015, he was indicted in the United States for taking bribes totaling $ 200 million. He has also been a member of the FIFA Audit and Compliance Committee.
