Luka Modric has won the Golden Globe Award for Best Player in the World, awarded by the French magazine France Football, and speculation persists until the official announcement of the ceremony tonight.

Leaks in the Parisian capital caused Argentine star Lionel Messi to finish fifth with 280 points and was replaced by Egyptian star Mohammed Salah sixth with 188 points.
