LONDON (Reuters) – Astronomers have discovered millions of black holes in the Milky Way, including a giant hole 40 billion times the size of the Sun.
According to a report published by the technical website "Mashable", the black hole "Holmberg 15a" is a giant elliptical galaxy located about 700 million light years from Earth.
Holmberg 15A is one of the largest black holes discovered by the Wendelstein Observatory observing the movement of the stars around it.
Observatory researchers hope that the discovery, after further research, will help them learn more about the formation of black holes and the number of holes not yet discovered in the universe.
