Prime Minister Saad Hariri issued an administrative memorandum closing all departments, public institutions and municipalities for two days on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.
The memo said:
"On the basis of Decree No. 15215 of 27/09/2005 and its amendments, the appointment of public holidays and official events.
On the occasion of Eid al-Adha, all public administrations, public institutions and municipalities are closed for two days on the 10th and 11th Dhu al-Hijjah (1440), according to Dar al-Fatwa for the first of Dhu al-Hijjah and the declaration of the Shiite Supreme Council of the first of Dhul-Hijjah.
If the day of Eid coincides with the same day, the closing will only be two days. "
Prime Minister Hariri also issued a second memorandum, which called for the closure of all departments, public institutions and municipalities on Thursday, August 15, on the occasion of the feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.
