Samra Power Company and General Electric Company yesterday signed the first agreement to amend the long-term agreement signed between the two parties, allowing the Samra power plant to develop operating turbines, increase its production of about 15 MW and increase the combined cycle of 1.5% without additional costs, according to a company statement.
According to the statement, the deal was allegedly signed by Al-Samra, its managing director, Dr. Sufian Batayneh, by General Electric, the Middle East Sales Manager, Fadi Tabboush, and the contract manager, Dr. Bashar Sinokrot.
According to the statement, Batayneh reportedly said the amendment included a number of improvements, including the inclusion of the necessary elements to allow Samra to develop the Samra Torin power station free of charge, allowing financial savings and improve the performance of the Samra power plant, with 7 gas units and 4 steam units, with a power of 1240 MW. 40% of the electricity consumed in the kingdom.
Batayneh underscored the importance of the agreement signed with (GE) to reduce maintenance costs and improve the performance of the badets of the Samra station, thus increasing the operating time between maintenance and extending the life of turbines and their parts up to 96,000 hours.
