The Agthia group achieved a net profit of 84 million AED and a business turnover of 1.06 billion AED in the first half of 2019.
The Agthia group has increased its turnover by 5.4% compared to the same period last year.
Agthia noted that the group's water portfolio – Al Ain, Al Bayan and Albin – continued to dominate the UAE market with 30% and 28% of the shares in volume and value, respectively. Its international portfolio in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, as well as the distribution of 5 gallon water bottles, also contributed to the revenues of the water and beverages sector.
The food sector has maintained a remarkable growth trajectory, with net sales up 30% over the same period last year. The flour sector of the agri-food division also recorded a 12% increase in sales compared to the same period last year, due to higher sales volumes at the local level.
