Saudi Arabia, Al Ittihad, renewed its victory over Iran's Zob Ahan and beat them 4-3 in the second round of the AFC Champions League, thus reaching the quarters of final. Al Ittihad won 2-1 at home in Dubai. Saudi and Iranian clubs face continental competition in neutral territory.
This is the first time the federation has reached the continental champions twice in 2004 and 2005, the quarter-finals since 2011.
Zob Ahn finished the group stage with 12 points in three wins and three draws, while Al Ittihad was second with 11 points in three wins, two draws and one loss.
