A US health worker arrived in the United States where he was quarantined in Nebraska (USA) for possibly being exposed to the Ebola virus while he was dealing with infected people in the US Democratic Republic of Congo.
The medical director of Nebraska said in a statement that the paramedic, arrived Saturday and not appearing to have Ebola symptoms, would remain under medical supervision for two weeks at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
The name of the paramedic was not indicated for reasons of confidentiality.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, symptoms such as fever and abdominal pain may appear to the patient within three weeks of infection with the deadly virus.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the Ebola epidemic in the DRC, which began six months ago, is the second most serious of its kind, making 356 injuries out of a total of of 356 people.
