Aston Villa signed two contracts yesterday, bringing the number of contracts to 12 new players. Midfielder Marvelus Nakamba joined Club Brugge in Belgium to follow goalkeeper Tom Heaton.
The club did not announce the value of the contract signed by Zimbabwean player Nakamba, but Sky Sports announced that the deal had cost 11 million pounds.
That brings Aston Villa's expenses this summer to 120 million pounds since the Premier League.
"Marvelous meets the standards we were looking for," said Diane Smith, director of Aston Villa. "He is a very emotional player, he is good at positioning and he will adapt to the way we play."
Nakamba became the second of Aston Villa's contracts yesterday, with Tom Highton's club signing Burnley for £ 8 million, the media reported.
"I look forward to playing in the Premier League and meeting the best players in the world," said Nakamba at Aston Villa's official website. It's the best league in the world. "
"I've always dreamed of being part of the Premier League and competing with the best players in the world."
"There is a momentum here – you can see it from afar," he said. "This team started something last season and turned into a great success in the second half of the season."
