MADRID (Reuters) – Barcelona have signed an agreement with Brazil's Atletico Mineiro for the signing of 20-year-old Brazilian Emerson.
Barcelona said via his Twitter account that Emerson would join him next summer.
Barcelona and Real Betis have agreed with Atletico Mineiro the right to buy the player and will each pay 6 million euros for a transaction of 12 million euros, announced the daily Mundo Deportivo.
The newspaper announced that the player would spend the next six months at Real Betis and continue with his team. By guaranteeing the right of purchase in Barcelona, he would pay 9 million euros.
The agreement between Barcelona and Real Betis is due to the fact that the Catalan club is filled with players outside the European Union but plans to include the player in case of successful adaptation to football Spanish.
The player will join Real Betis midway next month after the end of the Cup of South America hosted by Chile.
