Argentine Lionel Messi led his Barcelona team to a 4-0 win over Espanyol on Saturday in the Catalunya derby in the 15th round of the Spanish league, which also allowed Sevilla to be tied with Valencia 1/1 and Atletico Madrid to beat Alaves 3-0-0, Celta Vigo, Villarreal 3-2.
Messi scored twice for his team in the 17th and 65th minutes and the other two, Osman Dembli and Luis Suarez, in the 26 minutes and last in the first half.
Barca raised his lead to 31 points and has three points ahead of Sevilla and Atletico Madrid, respectively second and third.
