Bayern Munich are "on the track" before the start of the season, Croatian coach Nico Kovac, who started his campaign to defend his title in the German Cup against Energie Cottbus, announced Wednesday.
The Bavarian giants, who have won the league title these past seven seasons, will be guests of the modest fourth-tier local football team, tonight in the cup, before welcoming Hertha Berlin on Friday in the first phase of the 2019-2020 season in the Bundesliga.
Kovac, who won the national double in his first season at the helm, said his players were supposed to be "in good physical shape" with the first match against Hertha Berlin and "they have to show that day".
