In July, the Louvre experienced difficult days due to the storm and the temporary transfer of the Monalisa plaque to another hall, due to restoration work. Some unhappy tourists have denounced the lack of information on the Internet.

"Booking cards allows the public to be entertained throughout the day and week," said Vincent Boumerid, deputy commissioner general of the museum.

"This reservation system is still not binding until now," he said.

"We will make mandatory online reservations, as well as many other museums, and all visitors will have to resort to this system before the end of the year," said the senior official.
