Former Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon defended his decision to move to Paris Saint-Germain after the expiry of his contract at the end of last season.
"I will never give up my principles and my dreams of money," Buffon told the Italian daily Corriere della Sera.
"Maybe some people feel a little craving for me, that is the nature of man, but I have an important rule that is not to pay attention to what that others say about you. "
"Money is certainly important because it is a way of living better, but I am not the one who buys money," he said.
"Some thought I might be mad after this decision, but I have great ambition and enthusiasm that make me ready to compete for years with younger players," he said.
"I'm proud to be here in Paris because receiving a powerful show from a great club like this reflects their confidence in my abilities and I'm sure I've taken the good decision, "he said.
