The World Health Organization (WHO) has confirmed that trials of two new drugs have been shown to be very effective in treating Ebola virus in Congo.

The WHO reported that the drugs "REGN-EP / 3" and "MAB / 114" had been tested on 600 people in eastern Congo, where the Ebola outbreak was taking place. Had been declared since the end of last year.

She explained that they had shown much more results than other experimental drugs, with nearly 90% of those who received early treatment could survive.

World Health Organization spokesman Christian Lindmeier told the German news agency: this is good news, but he will not stop Ebola alone.

"Patients who have received early care have a better chance of survival and all of our response partners will continue to encourage patients to receive treatment as soon as possible."
