BEIJING, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) – China's industrial output has fallen to its lowest level in 17 years as a result of the slowdown in the economy due to trade tensions with the United States.

According to Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa, industrial production rose by 4.8% in July compared with the previous year, its lowest level since 2002.

Retail sales advanced 7.6%, while capital investment slowed to 5.7% in the first seven months of the year.
