The new device, called Wand, was developed by engineers at the University of California at Berkeley and aims to stimulate the brain by monitoring its electrical current, and should be able to provide "accurate" treatments to patients with of epilepsy and Parkinson's disease.

Scientists say that the device works in the same way as a pacemaker, monitoring the electrical activity of the brain and providing electrical stimulation if it detects an error. This is not the first attempt of such a device, but experts believe it is the first version able to adapt to the hidden and changing symptoms of each person, which is difficult to detect and stimulate.
