Window on the World – Astronomers have detected a new planet with three suns, called LTT 1445Ab, which was discovered from data collected by NASA's TESS satellite.

According to the US space website, the LTT 1445 revolves around just one of the three stars, and the system is about 22.5 light-years from Earth.

"If you stand on the surface of this planet, there are three suns in the sky, but two of them are separate," said Jennifer Winters, astronomer at the Harvard-Smithsonian Astrophysics Center.

According to TESS data, scientists believe that the planet is larger than the Earth, about 8 times its mbad and that its temperature is 160 degrees Celsius (320 degrees Fahrenheit). The planet revolves around a triple star every 5 days.
