Dow Jones records the largest decline in a day in 10 months

Wall Street had a strong sell on Wednesday, pushing the Dow Jones industrial average to record its biggest single-day drop in points since October 2018 as investors worried about the global recession.

According to Reuters, the Dow closed the trading session down 801.10 points, or 3.05%, to 25,479.42 points, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index dropped by 85.72 points, or 2.93%, to close at 2840.60 points.

Both indices posted the lowest close in two months.

The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 242.42 points, or 3.02%, to 7,773.94.
