BDS Egypt has called for the cancellation of the first concert of the American singer Jennifer Lopez in the country, accusing her of being "involved in the whitening of the face of the occupation".

The Egyptian campaign, part of an international campaign of boycott of Israel, sent an open letter to Orascom for the development of this event, calling for its cancellation "in solidarity with the Palestinian people against the crimes of the enemy Zionist".

Orascom, owned by Egyptian billionaire Samih Sawiris, announced in late May its first concert of Lopez in Egypt, to be held in the new Mediterranean city of El Alamein on Friday 9 August.

The campaign announced that Lopez was planning to organize in Egypt "immediately after her last concert in occupied Palestine a few days ago, which she insisted on reviving even though she had received numerous calls for boycotts in Egypt. Israel and the cancellation of the concert ".

Last Thursday, Lopez resumed his concert in Tel Aviv to celebrate his 50th birthday.
