The Minister of Health and Population chaired the third meeting of the specialized technical committee on health, population and drugs at the ministerial level, which was held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi and jointly with the presidency of the African Union, attended by several African Ministers of Health and representatives of international organizations dealing with health and population issues.

In her speech, the Minister emphasized that Egypt is committed to achieving the goals of sustainable development by 2030 and the African goals in general, and in particular in the areas of health, nutrition and nutrition. control of the population and drugs, mobilizing all resources and adopting ambitious and constructive plans to ensure a decent and secure life for people, stressing that the citizen is the nation's greatest national wealth and the basis of its growth and progress, the health and education sectors in Egypt have been the focus of attention in successive national plans.

She added that the state had reached this milestone thanks to the initiatives launched by President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi in the field of health, which aimed to fight against all communicable and noncommunicable diseases, in particular the disease. "100 million healthy people" initiative, which provided for equal consideration of Egyptians and non-Egyptians, comprehensive health insurance system, as well as early detection and treatment of bad cancer and support for women's health.

In her speech, the Minister of Health announced Egypt's intention to establish a regional center to support Cairo-based public health initiatives to activate health initiatives. African countries to eliminate the diseases and epidemics that are a major burden for the brotherly African countries.

She added that Egypt would provide logistical support and support plans for the implementation of public health initiatives inspiring Egyptian initiatives under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi, launched under the slogan "100 million people. This center will be a partnership of experiences among African countries aimed at providing health care to all citizens, stressing that a ministerial meeting is scheduled for next November in Cairo to activate the institution. headquarters under the auspices of the African Union Commission.

The minister also affirmed Egypt's intention to sign and ratify the WADA agreement, calling on all African Union member states to do the same with regards to its ratification. in November for the expected positive impact of the mainland countries, thus contributing to the development of the pharmaceutical industry. .

She also emphasized that Egypt reaffirmed its commitment to the need to provide maternal and child health care and support for family planning, reproductive health, nutrition, youth and adolescent health services, adding that his country was striving to reduce maternal and infant mortality. In 2017, Egypt had 43.9% of deaths per 100,000 live births, a level close to the target set for 2020, as well as rising coverage rates for routine immunizations of children exceeding 94%.

The Minister of Health pointed out that Egypt had launched a national plan to fight antibiotic-resistant microbes, as well as a program of rationalization and governance of antibiotic use, which the ranks first among African countries in this area.

During the meeting, the Minister of Health called to unite the voice of the African continent to adopt and develop laws and legislation against drugs and crime and recommended the fight against terrorism, which deprives the population of 39, one of the necessary principles of life, recommended by President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi at the recent youth conference. In treatment, highlighting Egypt's willingness to submit the comprehensive national plan to combat drugs, which follow the United Nations international standards, which was praised by Professor John Strjon.

African Union Commissioner for Social Affairs, Amira Al-Fadhel, said that the African Union was working on monitoring and implementing the African Health Plan 2016-2030, which is being implemented by the African Union. Was fully committed to the development goals for 2030 and the African Agenda 2063, and thanked Egypt for hosting the first population conference in 1994.
