Egyptian stock market: 7.4 billion Saudi investments at the end of the first quarter

The Egyptian Stock Exchange revealed that Saudi investments in the stock market amounted to about 1.7 billion riyals (7.4 billion pounds sterling) at the end of the first quarter of 2019, accounting for 4.5% of the total regulated and unregulated securities transactions.

The most important sectors in which the Saudis are investing are real estate and non-bank financial services, with 316 million riyals and 294 million riyals, respectively, the stock market told The Economist newspaper on Saturday.

About 32 Saudi companies have invested in the Egyptian stock market and 266 Saudi investors.

The total value of the Egyptian stock market is high at 816 billion pounds in the first quarter of this year, while the total value of transactions is about 82.6 billion pounds and the figure is About 15,551 million shares.

Foreigners achieved a net turnover of 2134.4 million EGP in the first quarter of 2019, while the Arabs made a compensation of 79.9 million EGP, after exclusion of transactions.
