Des Moines (United States) – Allison Felix, who won six Olympic gold medals after returning to the competition after a 13-month absence due to childbirth, competed in the 400-meter final on the first day of the US championships of athletics Thursday.
The 33-year-old returned to the US championship at Drake University in Iowa, seeking to register her US national team at the world championships in Doha from Sept. 27 to Oct. 6.
Felix, the only finalist of six Olympic gold medals, is trying to return to the highest level after being born in November.
The return of the Olympic and world champion was not easy, as she finished fourth in the group with a time of 52.20 seconds, a considerable difference from her personal best (49.26 w) in 2015 at of his world title victory only in the 400 meters, and had to wait for the rest of the results of the other groups to secure their qualification for the next round.
"I did not run for a long time," said Felix, a native of Los Angeles.
