Windows 10 finally outperformed Windows 7, which is now 10 years old, according to market research firm Netmarketshare.
According to the company's Windows rollout report for December 2018, Windows 10 held 39.22 percent of the market, compared to 36.9 percent and Windows 7, while Windows 8.1 had a penetration rate of only 4.45 percent.
In terms of operating systems in general, Windows has a market share of 86.2%, compared to 10.65% for MacOS, 2.78% for Linux and 0.32% for the Google Chrome system.
