LONDON (Reuters) – Spain's Javi Gracia have signed a four-and-a-half year deal, Watford said Wednesday.

"From day one, it was clear that Javi was working very well with us and we shared our vision of the success of the Watford Football Club and we look forward to working together for many years," said Scott Dexbury, Executive Director. of the club.

The 48-year-old Spanish coach joined the northwestern suburbs of London in January. This new contract, which will allow Gracia to carry out its duties until 2023, rewards his excellent work within his team, now ninth.

"I am very happy to extend my contract," said Gracia, "I am very proud to be part of this club at the moment and to stay here for many seasons."

Gracia started the season with Watford with five straight wins, which earned him coach of the month in August.

The new contract for Garcia, who has already overseen clubs such as Malaga, Spain's Osasuna and Russia's Ruben Kazan, includes a position that can be extended for three more seasons.
