Foxconn plans to produce an iPhone in India

TOKYO (Reuters) – Taiwan-based electronics maker Foxconn is planning to build new production lines at its plant near Chennai, capital of Tamil Nadu state, India iPhone, according to sources close to the agreement. Foxconn currently has factories in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.

The company's new project, Project Project, is about expanding the company's Srebromedor plant near Chennai to manufacture smart phones, including iPhone models.

Currently, some iPhone phones, such as 6S and SE, are being manufactured by another Taiwanese company, Wistron, in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The new project is expected to be announced on January 24th.
