Manchester United coach Frank De Boer, who has already coached Ajax Amsterdam and Inter Milan, has been named coach of the US champions, Sunday's Atlanta champions announced.
The Dutch coach will replace Tata Martino, who was announced in October
He said he would leave Atlanta United after winning his first league title.
De Boer, 48, former defender of the Netherlands, from Ajax to Amsterdam and Barcelona, has evolved into the Premier League with Crystal Palace, but there are only four matches left.
However, it is his career in developing players in Ajax that has impressed the American club.
"Frank de Boer has great experience as a coach and player, and we look forward to welcoming him to the club," said Darren Els, president of Atlanta.
"When we started our research, we were very determined to find someone who met all the standards we set."
"In addition to meeting the basic standards of our club, his philosophical views on how to play match our views without question."
"He has great experience in developing emerging players, many of whom have become stars in European teams."
"Ultimately, his language skills, especially in Spanish and English, will ensure a smooth transition from leadership to club level."
De Boer, one of the country's most outstanding defenders, has competed at the World Cup twice and at the European Championship three times with the Netherlands.
