Future cooperation between "Arab journalists" and the World Health Organization

The training organized by the Federation in cooperation with the World Health Organization in Sharm el-Sheikh on the role of the media in correcting misconceptions in the field of mental health is now over. after achieving most of its goals.

He added that this was reflected in the interventions of journalists attending the session of 11 Arab countries, stressing that they had added value to their abilities by introducing a number of misconceptions about mental health. and the media, pointing out that a serious mistake had been made and describing the mentally ill as crazy. Considering it a danger to society when in reality it suffers from diseases like other patients who are entitled to care.

He pointed out that the conferences, workshops and brainstorming sessions had resulted in a number of recommendations stemming from the study of published press books with professional shortcomings, the main one being the absence use of documented sources of disease and the neglect of certain media in their role. In support of the efforts of governments in their health systems reform, and have seen or presented successful models in Egypt, one million health.

Abdulmajeed announced the expected cooperation between the EU and WHO to develop a strategy for future action to develop a guide to misconceptions and concepts of health and that the Federation communicates with the unions concerned to take it into account.
