Google Assistant can now read and reply to messages on certain third-party applications.

Google App has received a new update allowing you to interact with more email applications with the help of voice commands. Once you have authorized Google App to access notifications, the app reads and responds to messages from third-party apps via Google Assistant.

You can already do this with text messages, but Google Assistant has never been able to read you messages from WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger, with the exception of Android Auto.

To get started, ask Google Assistant to read your messages by saying "Read my messages," and you may be prompted to access notifications. Once granted, it will read the messages for you and ask you to answer them by voice commands. WhatsApp, Slack, GroupMe, Discord and Facebook Messenger are among the applications that support this new feature.

The Google Assistant visual map displays a preview of the message, the name of the contact, and the application to respond to. This looks like another great addition to Google Assistant. Try this feature and see if it works.
